Your ship's teleporter has malfunctioned and jumped you into the middle of an asteroid. You have faulty map data showing the rough location of an exit point. Keep teleporting until you feel you are in the marked exit point on your map. It may help to try and map the cave system with pen and paper ;)

When you are ready, JUMP. If you are in the exit point you'll jump out of the asteroid back into space. If you misjudged... lets just say you don't want to misjudge.
